What a fabulous find hidden in the mountains between Bologna and Florence. My experience at the rustic and authentic Trattoria Anconella was exceptional. As a solo diner with very limited Italian I was treated incredibly well, even without a reservation. I ate a plate of affettati misti (mixed cold cuts) which was delicious, followed by a bowl of the most delicious tortellini in brodo I’ve ever tasted. Highly recommend adding it as a stop if you’re driving between Bologna and Florence - stunning views on the way and even better food to keep you going!
Had a lovely dinner here on our last night in Italy. The home made past was among the best things I ever ate. We ate outside on the lovely covered patio.
